First game of the day was KC vs Plainwell. The Giants got off to a slow start and Plainwell took advantage, taking a 6 point lead Midway through the set. The Giants started a come back with smart shots from outside Nina Vestal, but couldn't pull ahead. Set one went to Plainwell 26-24. In set two the Giants found their rythem and strong serving from senior defensive specialst Angeley Takyi led the Giants to a 25-16 victory.
Game two was against familiar foe Schoolcraft. Again, the Giants did not come out of the gates firing on all cylinders. Unforced errors hurt the team in a 14-25 loss in set one. Set two was a tight match. The Giants blocking was dominant, with 7 team blocks, but the Eagles were able to earn some long fought points and took the set 25-23.
Game three was KC vs Temperance Bedford. Fatuige started to set in for the Giants and strong attacking from Bedford earned them two straight set wins 11-25, 16-25.
The Giants seeded 4th in the silver bracket and played their quarter final match against Plainwell. Strong serving from Plainwell gave them the lead in set one, and unforced errors from the Giants led to a 25-16 win for Plainwell. The Giants then went down by 5 points early in set two. After a timeout, the senior leadership on the team took over and strong offense led by Sienna Crawford, Alora Unger-Branson and Regina Wolf combined with amazing backrow play from Destiny Wells and Jamie Glover to start a Giant comeback. The Giants earned a hard fought victory 25-21 to force a third set. It was not the Giants day however, as they got behind early and struggled to put kills down. Plainwell would win the game with a final set score of 15-9.
